About Us
Founded in 2001, the Meat Traders’ Association Singapore (MTAS) started as a small group of importers who came together to discuss shared industry challenges. Despite being competitors in the industry, they united to address issues for the benefit of everyone. What started off as an informal gathering quickly grew to become what we know as MTAS.
Today, MTAS plays a pivotal role in ensuring the strength of Singapore’s meat supply chain resilience through close partnerships with various government agencies such as the Singapore Food Agency (SFA) and Enterprise Singapore as well as international collaborations with Trade Associations of other countries. As the industry continues to evolve, MTAS remains committed to supporting all its members, by offering highly personalised value and adapting to the needs of its members.
At MTAS, we champion the interests of our members across the meat trade and production industry. We work to raise standards in hygiene, safety, and quality, while collaborating with authorities and embassies to diversify meat sources and ensure a resilient supply for Singapore.
Beyond safeguarding imports, we also support the development of overseas markets for meat exports, creating new opportunities for our members. We are committed to continuous skills upgrading, knowledge sharing, and driving digitalisation through Industry 4.0 adoption.
Equally, we encourage fair and progressive employment practices, fostering a sustainable and forward-looking meat industry for Singapore and beyond.
